Day 16 July 21 Drive from Lake Louise to Jasper

Our morning started with gentle rain progressing into a heavy downpour.  Karen sends a special thanks to the Austin Clan for her Great Boots.   They were given a big workout.  We headed out for our drive from Lake Louise to Jasper along the Icefields Parkway, supposedly the most beautiful road in the world…Here’s what we saw for the first hour.

Later it did clear a little and here is a sample of the glaciers and mountains that hug the road.

For the past few days we were getting the smoke from forest fires, but it wasn’t until today that we came upon them still burning.

A few of our faithful troupe taking time to smell the flowers (not roses).

This is the Stutsman, Showers, and Merten wagon train at a pull over.

The sign that greets the hordes at the Glacier Centre.  We are not the only ones to have discovered the beauty of the Canadian Rockies.

A couple of Mounties welcomed Karen.
