It was finally time to drive to Banff. Before we left Waterton, John decided to have
a breakfast dog that contained everything but the proverbial kitchen sink. Karen passed on one even though it is just the
thing for a long road trip.
Once in Banff, we immediately do what everyone does when
they hit a tourist trap, as the city of Banff is, we get our picture
taken. Karen chose to sit on the first
moose to come along.
At the Tunnel Mountain campground, we finally met up with
Ken and Debbie Merten. They flew into
Calgary and rented a small RV. After a
half day of instructions and another half day of driving, they arrived at the
campground, but not before a friendly Mountie explained some of the finer point
of law dealing with walking around in a moving RV.
Here we are at our first dinner together. Our collective adventure could now begin.
