Day 13 July 18 Banff

Today was laundry day.  This was not the kind of laundry we were used to.  Notice that they have postcards, calendars, and other things you can’t live without if you are a tourist.

The first of our destinations was the Banff Springs Hotel.  These lodges built by the Canadian Pacific Railroad are truly amazing.   The size of this one alone took us a while to take in.

At the base of the hotel are waterfalls on the Bow River.  We wished we had planned a whitewater trip down the river and over these falls.   It looked wicked!

The last visit of the day was to the Cascade Gardens, which is a botanical garden around one of the old government buildings.   The flowers were stunning, and it gave the Mertens and Showers a lot of quality flower identification time.   The Stutsmans did not take part in the discussions.
