We purchased it in October of 2012 and started camping with it right away. Our plans were to head off to Canada and Alaska in July of 2013 to celebrate John's retirement (Karen had retired the year before). All was going well until Karen started having back trouble and had to have major surgery which would delay our trip a year.
Now it is the summer of 2014 and we are going to try head out in July for a 2 month plus odyssey. This trip has become even more exciting after our friends the Showers and the Mertens decided to join us. The troops are starting to get ready for the trip.
It is now June and we are in the midst of a shake down trip before leaving. We are doing a 6 day 5 night trek visiting a different state park each evening. The idea is to simulate our constant movement towards Denali which will be more than 10,000 miles of fun.
Here we are on our second night in Cooper Lake State Park. The first night was at Bonham State Park, but because of storms, we didn't take any pictures. You see the canoe on the car, but this is not going with us.
John is enjoying a leisurely morning at Cooper State Park. Karen (Mrs. Technology) is trying her hand at this whole blogging process. Anyone want to take bets on her success? We are practicing now in hopes of sharing our pictures from our trip to Alaska with you.
